Fully Catered Activity Weeks
For those
wishing to sample the delights of Le Vieux Monastere and its’ beautiful
surroundings we also provide fully catered activity holidays in May, June &
September. Themed weeks may include painting, arts & crafts, wine tasting,
walking, cycling and photography. Your hosts and course facilitators will be
on hand to ensure that you have a creative and fun break.

Knitting Workshop: 3rd – 10th
May 2008
Following the overwhelming success of our knitting workshop in 2007 (as
featured in Simply Knitting September 2007) we are pleased to announce that
for 2008 we are delighted to have been able to engage the services of star
designers Sasha Kagan and Jean Moss who in conjunction with us have put
together an exciting programme which will include workshops covering basic
knitwear design, finishing techniques, and colour work.
The cost of
this holiday is £550, which includes accommodation, full board, workshops
and excursions. The cost excludes travel to La Rochelle and single room
supplement of £50.

Lace Making Workshop
20th - 27th September 2008 (In association with Texere)
 Set
your creativity free to blossom into chic modern lace accessories during a
fun week with contemporary bobbin-lace designer Jane Atkinson. Guests are
accommodated in luxurious cottages, with full board including wine. The
programme includes excursions, workshops and lectures allowing plenty of
time to create masterpieces in textile jewellery, neckwear, corsages,
scarves and bags.
Learn to handle colour and texture with style, taking inspiration from the
world around you as well as ‘French leave’ to exploit locally-sourced

July & August, Le Vieux Monastere can be hired out for exclusive use. What
could be more fun than a group of families or friends getting together in a
beautiful and relaxing environment? While your group has the privacy of
their own accommodation, the flexibility of our accommodation and facilities
can enable large groups to eat together, both inside or al fresco. We can
also arrange group excursions, various activities, and catered meals. We can

Easter 2008
Spring is a delightful time in Charente Maritime, perfect
walking & cycling country to beat away the winter blues. March 21st
to 24th are the dates for the Easter weekend. We are able
to host various activities for both adults and children, including Easter
Egg Hunt and evening social activities. Guests are accommodated in our
