Fully Catered Activity Weeks

For those wishing to sample the delights of Le Vieux Monastere and its beautiful surroundings we also provide fully catered activity holidays in May, June & September. Themed weeks may include painting, arts & crafts, wine tasting, walking, cycling and photography. Your hosts and course facilitators will be on hand to ensure that you have a creative and fun break.

French Treats Knitting Workshops

Our June 2010 knitting workshop was once again a resounding success and marked our 5th year of hosting such events and we regard Le Vieux Monastere as the premier destination in France for knitting workshop holidays. Due to the ever-increasing popularity of our knitting workshops we are pleased to be able to offer a further course in 2010 in addition to our 2011 events. Both courses form part of an inclusive programme providing a complete and relaxing holiday experience.

Renowned designer Sasha Kagan will once again be leading this workshop holiday, joined by designer and expert tutor Fiona Morris. The workshops will include design, colour and embellishments, combining all techniques into one piece of finished textile which can be made into a bag, a cushion top, throw or wall hanging.

“Inspired To Knit” with Fiona Morris and Loraine McClean

Fiona will be returning to Le Vieux Monastere for a 2nd workshop holiday in 2011, joined by fellow City & Guilds tutor Loraine McClean. This intensive workshop is suitable for knitters who can already follow a knitting pattern but want to realise their own creativity & design their own garments or accessories. There will be plenty of visual material & examples to inspire you, along with technical help in realising your design ideas. The activities will be structured but the workshop atmosphere will be relaxed & creative & you will be encouraged to continue sampling your knit ideas in the evenings while socialising.

Adventures in Pattern with Jane Atkinson

We are delighted to be welcoming Jane back. She says “This week is the springboard to a lifetime’s pleasure in creative pattern play.
