Fully Catered Activity Weeks
For those wishing to sample the delights
of Le Vieux Monastere and its’ beautiful surroundings we also provide fully
catered activity holidays in May, June & September. Themed weeks may include
painting, arts & crafts, wine tasting, walking, cycling and photography.
Your hosts and course facilitators will be on hand to ensure that you have a

Knitting Workshops
Our 2009
knitting workshop was once again a resounding success enjoyed by all. 2010
will mark our 5th year of hosting such events and we regard Le Vieux
Monastere as the premier destination in France for knitting workshop
holidays. Due to the ever-increasing popularity of our knitting workshops we
are pleased to be able to offer two courses in 2010. Both courses form part
of an inclusive programme providing a complete and relaxing holiday
experience.
Knitting
Workshop: French Treats 5th - 12th June 2010
with Sasha Kagan and Fiona Morris.

We are delighted to confirm
that renowned designer Sasha Kagan will once again be leading this
workshop holiday, joined by designer and expert tutor Fiona Morris. Workshops
include combining colour, texture and embellishments to make a personalised
needle case; knitted and crocheted jewellery; techniques for knitting lace;
and knitting with beads.

Lace Making
with Jane Atkinson 5th - 12th September 2010

Following on
from the success of our 2008 and 2009 lace making workshop holidays,
contemporary lace designer Jane Atkinson will once again be returning to
teach in 2010. Sponsored by Texere Yarns, she will be teaching “Grids To
Make Torchon Curve & Flow”
Jane has been
exploring grids for many years, and this week will give you new control of
your medium. Sponsorship by Texere, together with the availability of fibres
and filaments from a variety of other sources will provide the ideal
platform for exploring new horizons in the company of a widely-travelled
tutor always keen to support and encourage.

Quilting Workshop Holidays

Our inaugural quilting workshop holiday took place in September 2009.
Shirley Bloomfield shared her expertise in hand appliqué and a good time was
had by all.

Heirloom
Hand Quilting 19th - 26th June 2010
with Sandie Lush
Hand
quilter Sandie Lush will be tutoring the workshops covering such aspects as
designing, marking and preparation, and finishing techniques.
Sandie is an expert on the traditions
and techniques involved in wholecloth quilting. In 1993 she entered her
first wholecloth quilt into a competitive quilt show and has been a regular
prize winner ever since for design and skills. Her quilts have won three
separate UK national championships, have placed first in the major American
quilt shows and been exhibited in Europe, Australia and Japan.
In 2007 Sandie had a showcase gallery at The Festival of Quilts, Birmingham. Her
work has featured in Quilters’ Newsletter Magazine as well as in all the
British quilting publications. Sandie has also been a contributor to several
books including The Quilter’s Companion for which she wrote the wholecloth
